How to set the exits in a location (by Whiz)
Click on the location in the left column. On the right you'll see a big box, with the room number, and description and so forth... There are three tabs at the top of the box labeled "Location, Contents, and script) Click on the center tab called Contents. From this screen you can change your exits. At bottom you'll see Locations/Exits. Highlight this box (Letters will turn Red), then select your options with your mouse. The + and - options either add or delete an exit. if you delete, you'll be given the option of deleting the returning path as well. It depends on if you wish it to be a one way exit or not. I suggest deleting the return path as well. If you select add. You'll see a list of names and location ID's pop up. Scroll down to the location or ID number you wish to add and click it. Then you may highlight the room you just added, and using the boxes to the right change the direction (North, south, etc) and rename the location.

Note: You can double click on the room you just added and it will change to the ID number. I think this is some sort of fail safe to make sure you got the right room or whatever but it doesn't make a difference as far as I can see... If it does, I haven't found it yet.

A note on the rest of the boxes

Also in this screen you'll find boxes that allow you to add creatures, items, weapons, NPC's, and stuff... When you add something in one of these boxes, you may double left click on the added item in that box, it will change to Id numbers as well... but if you right click on it, it will add an * infront of it... It is my understanding that this * will make items invisible at start up, saving you the trouble of going through the altervisibility routines.

It depends what you're trying to do. If you want to create a textbased game, download the engine and editor.

Legendarytales is a game engine and editor. You basically create textbased games, or hope for any other person to create an adventure so you could play it..
